ST. LOUIS (KNOU) - One of the most popular events to take place at the St. Louis Public Library is their Drag Queen Storytime events.

However, this year a protest is being organized on facebook.

According to the Facebook description for the protest, "children with gender dysphoria haven’t been 'born into the wrong body,' but merely fall at the extreme tail-ends of the sex-related personality and behavioral distribution, and that with uninterrupted puberty, they will wind up identifying with their biological sex 85% of the time."

Caleb Smith created the event and encouraged people to "come in your most patriotic gear and help us hand out brochures with information about children with gender dysphoria."

The original event hosted by the St. Louis Public Library entails drag queens reading to children to help them while encouraging "interactive Storytime celebrating inclusion and diversity. Families can listen to stories and make crafts with local performers who are volunteering their time."

The Drag Queen Storytime will take place St. Louis Public Library- Schlafly Branch on Saturday, Sept. 28 at 2-3pm.
