ST. LOUIS (KNOU)- More than 63,000 rubber ducks filled the Chicago River on Thursday for the city's 14th annual 'Ducky Derby Race.'

The event was put on by the Special Olympics Illinois in order to help raise money for more than 23,000 athletes and over 17,000 Young Athletes across Illinois.

The prizes ranged from NASCAR tickets to a brand new 2019 Chevy Equinox.

Contestants purchased the bright yellow ducks for $5 apiece and $25 for a quack pack of 6.

After the race, the ducks were scooped up to be used again next year.
