The two collaborated together on Gomez’s upcoming album

December 18, 2019

The holidays are a time for friends and family, getting together with loved ones to celebrate the season. Whatever season you choose. We personally are most excited about Selena season.

On January 10, Selena Gomez will release Rare, her third studio album and her first since 2015. Packed with emotion and collaborations, the new LP comes with some help from a few famous friends. Kid Cudi and 6LACK both have features on Rare, with her dream team of Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter along for the ride as well.

Also lending a hand on the upcoming album is FINNEAS, a 5-time GRAMMY nominee thanks to his work with his sister Billie Eilish, and an integral part to Gomez’s first number one song. The producer put his touch on “Lose You To Love Me,” on its way to topping the chart earlier this year.

“Thank you for making this record beyond unreal for me,” Selena says to FINNEAS in an Artist to Artist exclusive from RADIO.COM. “I actually wanna know when we can hang out. Let’s do that. I would love to just be a part of the family,” she smiles. “Can I do that? Can y’all just invite me to dinner please?”

FINNEAS answers without hesitation. “Yeah. Easy answer. Yeah.”

“We just watched the pilot of ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ again last night,” he continues. “She’s aged like Dorian Gray. She has not aged a day. It’s unbelievable. An artist I’m a huge fan of and it was such a treat to get to work on that song with her. She’s just really amazing.”

Working on “Lose You To Love Me” was special according to FINNEAS, because of the vulnerability and power behind it. Selena has referenced the “emotional chaos” that the song is about overcoming, and he was proud to be a part of that process.

“I love being a part of something when I can tell that it’s really honest. I think that song was really honest for her,” he adds. “I felt lucky to be a part of it. She’s the best. So yeah, let’s hang out. Let’s get dinner.”

There we go. Another dinner connection made. We call dibs on leftovers.
