Continuing its quest to bring more diversity to TV drama, Grey's Anatomy will be adding its first openly gay male surgeon to its cast of characters when the show returns this fall for its 15th season.

Dr. Nico Kim will be played by Korean-Italian actor Alex Landi after Jessica Capshaw's lesbian character, Dr. Arizona Robbins, departed at the end of last season. It's unclear how many episodes Landi will appear in.

Grey's Anatomy's 15th season--which has been dubbed the "Season of Love"--will kick off with a two-hour debut on September 27.
