Thirty years after the self-lacing sneaker made its appearance in Back to the Future Part II, fans will actually be able to buy Nike power-lacing basketball sneakers. The Los Angeles Times reports the Nike Adapt BB will hit shelves on February 17, the same day as the NBA All-Star game. Nike technically released its first self-lacing sneaker in 2017, but at $720, it was unattainable by the average joe and the Adapt BB is the first power-lacing shoe designed for professional basketball performance. Rather than actual laces, the shoe tightens via a motor and gear train at the touch of a button (or through an app). Amateur ballers can score the new kicks for $320. The Boston Celtics' Jayson Tatum is expected to debut the shoes for the NBA on Wednesday versus the Toronto Raptors.
