DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF THE CONGO (KNOU) — Not every person gets to take selfies with gorillas at their day-to-day job, but there is a Virunga National Park anti-poaching ranger that gets to do that on a regular basis.

Mathieu Shamavu posted several selfies on Facebook with a pair of gorillas at the UNESCO World Heritage site.

The photos have since went viral bringing attention to the endangered species of mountain gorilla. "These local men and women go through intensive training, risking their lives on a daily basis to safeguard the park's exceptional wildlife, including the last of the world's critically endangered mountain gorillas," said the park website.
